Special Place: Rattlesnake Mountain

This 73-acre SNLMPA nomination encompasses Rattlesnake Mountain, a 5,011-foot peak representing a scenic and visual touchstone of the Truckee Meadows. Washoe County is developing a trailhead and improving trails immediately south of Rattlesnake allowing users to hike to the peak of Rattlesnake Mountain and connect to other trails in the Huffaker Hills. The Huffaker Hills area includes significant historic sites such as wagon wheel ruts from pioneers traveling along the Emigrant Trail.

We’re pleased to be working with Carson City, Douglas County, Washoe County, and the owners of a number of properties for public acquisition through Round 5 of the Southern Nevada Public Lands Management Act.
